Traveller sent packing after border officials seize weapons, cannabis

You might let a recent incident at the Ambassador Bridge serve as a reminder that you could face penalties if you try to bring cannabis across the border.

Canada Border Service Agency officers at the Ambassador Bridge fined an American traveller headed into Canada after finding some loose cannabis, a couple of joints, four packages of gummies, and what appears to be multiple vials of cannabis oil.

That's not all they found on August 10.

A photo released by border officials shows 11 prohibited weapons, including a pair of brass knuckles and ten knives.

Officials seized the items.

The traveller was fined $6,710 and sent back to the U.S.
