According to a new poll by the language learning app Preply, Windsor is the fifth rudest city in Canada, and Chatham-Kent is the fourth most polite.
Between July 24 and 28, the company surveyed 1,518 Canadians in 44 cities to find out who's naughty, nice, has a potty mouth, and apologizes the most.
The poll asked respondents how often they witness 26 common disrespectful behaviours, like paying attention to their phone to the exclusion of others in public, not picking up dog feces, and not letting other drivers merge in traffic.
The results were averaged and used to rank each city.
As for calculating how often people use foul language and apologize, participants were asked how often they swear or say sorry daily. Canadians swore nine times a day and apologized just as much on average.
Four out of five respondents agree with the statement, "Overall, Canadians are polite," and the average number of times a day we apologize averaged nine. However, it would appear we enjoy using so-called "blue" language just as often as we say sorry.
Windsor scored 6.88 for rudeness, behind Vaughn at 8.05, 7.85 in Coquitlam, Brampton at 7.05, and Surrey at 6.91.
The lowest rankings indicated the most polite cities. Markham was at the bottom at 2.91. Saguenay, Quebec, scored 3.87, Cape Breton at 3.88, and Chatham-Kent with 3.93. London was tenth from the bottom with a score of 4.55.
Who swears the most? Residents of Burlington dropped profanities on average 15 times a day, followed by Guelph at 14, and those living in Chatham-Kent used a "bad word" 13 times daily.
Burlington residents also apologize the most at 18 sorries a day. Chatham-Kent was fifth on the list with 13 daily sorries.
Only Canadians who had lived in the country for at least 12 months were allowed to participate in the survey conducted by Censuswide.
