Windsor Express joins Basketball Super League

The Windsor Express professional basketball team will be joining the Basketball Super League for its 11 season.

Many former National Basketball League teams including London, Kitchener-Waterloo, and Sudbury have also moved over the the Basketball Super League.

Windsor Express President and CEO Dartis Willis said as part of negotiations, he ensured the Express would be the only team in the Windsor, Essex and Detroit area.

"The BSL presented us an opportunity to not only play here but also play in the US and potentially Mexico so that gives us a better opportunity," said Willis.

The regular season of the Windsor Express gets underway just after Christmas. Tickets will go on sale in October.

"I saw the first version of the schedule and yes I got London I got Sudbury and I'm excited about Kitchener so looking forward to playing, I'll call those our home teams, and other teams in the U.S.," said Willis.
