The Town of Amherstburg says it has reached a settlement with a former employee who left their role with the municipality two years ago.
On Friday, Town officials said it has come to a confidential settlement with Cheryl Hobin, the former Director of Corporate Services.
In August of 2021, Hobin was one of three staffers relieved of their municipal duties, along with former Director of Planning and Development Service Nicole Rubuli and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) John Miceli.
At the time, former Mayor Aldo DiCarlo said the decision was the town doing its "due diligence reviewing some issues that were brought to our attention."
Police were in attendance when the three were escorted off town property, however, the Town said the employees had nothing to do with any criminal activities.
In a statement Friday, The Town of Amherstburg said “We recognize that [Hobin] is a senior municipal employee who has demonstrated a wide range of skills over her career. The Corporation wishes her the best in her future endeavors.”
