Visitors to a Windsor-Essex park will now be able to enjoy a colourful addition.
Members of Essex Town Council met with the Windsor-Essex Community Foundation Friday to dedicate a waterfront legacy project at Colchester Park, commemorating the WECF's 40th anniversary.
The project consists of an oversized picture frame to allow residents and visitors to create memories of visiting the area.
Mayor Sherry Bondy said the Town is pleased to be part of enhancing the WECF's history.
"We are thrilled to unveil this beautiful waterfront legacy project at Colchester Park, made possible by the WECF's generous investment in their 40th year of philanthropy," said Bondy. "This interactive piece of art will allow both residents and visitors to create lasting memories while capturing the beauty of Essex County. Projects like these represent our commitment to preserving our history, embracing our future, and bringing our community together."
WECF Executive Director Lisa Kolody said the Essex project is one of a number the foundation is undertaking this year.
"This year, we are investing in the community to create projects that will invest in lasting change, reflect who we are as the people of Windsor and Essex County, value our sense of place and culture, and honour both our local history and our future as it unfolds," said Kolody.
