Golf tournament raises $90K for Children's Aid Foundation

Golfers have scored a hole-in-one as money was raised for Windsor-Essex children and families.

The annual Fortis Group Golf Tournament, held last month at the Ambassador Golf and Country Club in LaSalle, raised $90,000 for the Windsor-Essex Children's Aid Foundation (WECAF).

"The Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Foundation is extremely grateful to the Fortis Group for their community spirit that has made a difference in the lives of so many children, youth, and families who will benefit from the life-changing programs that this generosity will impact," said WECAF Board President Cheryl Sprague.

WECAF is in the midst of a $1.5-million fundraising initiative called "Children, Youth, and Families - Strength for Today, Opportunities for Tomorrow". The goal of the campaign is to eliminate social and financial barriers for children and families.

"We would like to thank our amazing clients, volunteers, industry leaders, trade partners, as well as everyone else that continues to support Fortis Group’s mandate to give back to our community," said Fortis Group President Max De Angelis and Vice-President Tyler Beckett in a joint statement. "Our values and the unified strength we create together have provided the opportunity to support families and youth through the Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Foundation. We could not be prouder of this amazing outcome."

This year's fundraising total surpassed 2022's, which was $75,000.
