Windsor councillor debuts weekly podcast

A first-term Windsor city councillor will return to the microphone with a public affairs podcast.

Ward 4 Councillor Mark McKenzie has launched "The Windsor Podcast with Mark McKenzie". He is the first elected official in the City to have a weekly podcast.

"I felt that this was another way to communicate with residents, and let them know what's going on at City Hall on a weekly basis," said McKenzie. "Residents don't always know what's on the council or committee agendas, and this is a great way to inform the public of what's being discussed at our meetings."

McKenzie's first guest is a council colleague, Ward 3's Renaldo Agostino. The podcast will eventually feature elected officials across Windsor-Essex, plus area newsmakers.

The councillor is no stranger to the microphone, having previously worked for 17 years as an award-winning radio host.

Amherstburg Town Councillor Linden Crain also hosts a weekly interview show via YouTube livestreaming, but Crain's program has been running since before he was elected to town council.

"The Windsor Podcast with Mark McKenzie" is available free of charge wherever podcasts can be downloaded.

McKenzie has also invited Ward 4 residents to his annual fall ward meeting, set for Wednesday, October 11, at 6:30 p.m., in the Galileo Hall at Caboto Club.
