COVID-19 outbreak reported at Windsor Regional Hospital

Windsor Regional Hospital has confirmed an outbreak of COVID-19 on one of its campuses.

The hospital reported Tuesday afternoon that three patients have tested positive for the virus on the 4-North unit of the Metropolitan Campus.

"This outbreak serves as a reminder that COVID-19 continues to circulate in our community," read a release from the hospital. "Please continue to follow the advice of medical experts when it comes to masking if you are not feeling well, and check with your family practitioner for whether you are due for vaccinations."

The outbreak will be rescinded on Tuesday, October 17, if there are no additional cases.

The hospital has reinstated a mandatory masking policy for employees and volunteers, which took effect at midnight Monday. Masks must be worn within two metres of any patient unless there is a physical barrier.
