A rally in downtown Windsor called attention to the ongoing violence in the Middle East.
Hundreds gathered Thursday evening for what was called a Day of Resistance, to express solidarity with Palestinians involved in the conflict.
Windsor police reported that about 300 people gathered along the riverfront, and then moved to City Hall to continue the protest.
The rally was sponsored by the Palestinian Solidarity Group of the University of Windsor. According to its Facebook page, the group's purpose is to work for "basic rights and liberation of the Palestine people".
The protest is one of many scheduled worldwide after Hamas militants launched a surprise attack on Israel on Saturday, during a Jewish holiday.
As of Thursday evening, three Canadians had died in the conflict, according to their families.
