City supporting arts and culture through grants

The City of Windsor is supporting 24 projects with another round of funding from the Arts, Culture & Heritage Fund.

A total of $59,000 was awarded to individual artists and community organizations. The projects include visual arts, performing arts, film, music, literary arts, comedy, and drag performances.

“This program has a significant impact on the creative community while helping to celebrate and share the best of Windsor’s arts, culture and heritage sectors with the broader community. On behalf of City Council, thank you to the volunteer jurors who served this year, and congratulations to this latest batch of funding recipients. We look forward to seeing these projects come to life in Windsor,” said Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens.

Grants through the Arts, Culture and Heritage Fund are awarded two times a year. Grant recipients can receive up to $5,000.

Since 2014, the City of Windsor has awarded $950,000 to 436 projects.

The grant program is currently funded through the City of Windsor budget. However, the city is now inviting businesses, individuals and corporations to help expand the program. Anyone interested in supporting the city's arts, culture, and heritage community is asked to contact culturalaffairs@citywindsor.ca.
