French Catholic school board expands child care again

Daycare services at the French Language Catholic school board are expanding again in Windsor.

Last month, Conseil scolaire catholique Providence announced 15 new spaces for children as young as 18 months at Ecole elementaire Saint-Edmond. Now, it said 15 additional spaces will open at Ecole elementaire catholique Sainte-Therese.

With the $1.74-million from the Ontario government, it too will be able to care for children as young as 18 months.

"This expansion project will enable us to better serve our French-speaking Catholic school communities in the Windsor area," said newly appointed Director of Education Carolyn Bastien. "The addition of daycare spaces is essential to the development of the French and Catholic identity of our region's children. We are eager to begin construction of the expanded space in collaboration with the Ministry of Education."

Ecole elementaire catholique Sainte-Therese has a student population of almost 450 in junior kindergarten to grade 8.
