The snow's not flying yet, but when it does, the Town of Essex wants to make sure its snow plows are ready to go with a new name.
Until November 26, the public can submit name suggestions online.
The town has three plows and it needs names for all of them.
"We can't wait to see the unique and imaginative names our residents come up with," said Mayor Sherry Bondy. "This contest not only adds a touch of whimsy to our winter maintenance efforts, but also fosters community engagement."
After November 26, town officials will review all the submissions and pick the most creative. The public will vote for the winning three entries between December 4 and 10.
The winning names will be announced on December 11 on the municipal website and through social media.
The Municipality of Chatham-Kent has held a similar contest the past number of years and some of the winning names include Betty Whiteout, Edward Blizzardhands, and Ctrl Salt Delete.
