UPDATE: Crews tackle two apartment fires in Tecumseh

Multiple crews were called to handle not one, but two fires at the same apartment complex in Tecumseh.

Tecumseh Fire and Rescue crews were first called shortly before 5 p.m. Monday to the building on Southfield Drive, off Tecumseh Road East near the Windsor city border. When they arrived, they found a fully-involved unit, with heavy smoke throughout the building.

The building was evacuated. No injuries were reported but two people were displaced.

Firefighters were called back to the building shortly after midnight Tuesday morning when smoke was reported in a third-floor unit.

Smoke was reported in the hallways again, but that time, there was no fire.

The OPP and Essex-Windsor-EMS responded to both incidents, which remain under investigation.
