Driver charged following assault in Amherstburg

Officers from Windsor police's Amherstburg detachment responded to an injury report at around 9 a.m., in the area of Alma Street and Fryer Street. The victim told police that he and another driver were involved in road rage.

The other driver followed the victim to a business on Alma Street and struck him in the face before driving off. The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

A 36-year-old man was arrested soon after and charged with assault causing bodily harm. The charge has not been proven in court.

The investigation is ongoing.
