Suspect wanted in Amherstburg grocery thefts

The Amherstburg detachment of the Windsor Police Service is looking for a suspect wanted for thefts at multiple grocery stores.

Around 11 a.m. Saturday, a man entered a grocery store on Sandwich Street near Elm Street and took several items without paying. When a person tried to stop him, the suspect pushed them to the ground and took off.

The victim had minor injuries.

The suspect then went to another grocery store down the street and stole meat and seafood.
