Young man killed in alleged impaired driving collision

A 19-year-old Windsor woman faces charges after a 21-year-old was killed in a collision Wednesday night.

The crash happened just before midnight on Cameron Avenue near Riverside Drive. Investigators learned a car was speeding down the street before it lost control and struck a parked vehicle.

Paramedics rushed the 21-year-old passenger to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The 19-year-old driver was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

She faces dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death and impaired operation of a vehicle causing death charges.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information or video footage can contact the Windsor Police Service Traffic Enforcement Unit at 519-945-9645 ext. 223.
