UPDATE: Three local lottery winners including an Amherstburg millionaire

The latest big lottery winners in Windsor-Essex are a 54-year-old mother from Windsor who plans to share her winnings with family in Vietnam, a 45-year-old Lakeshore man who wants to buy a home, and an Amherstburg man who won $1-million with a Lotto 6-49 ticket.

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation says Timothy Kelly won an early Christmas present when he won his million in the Gold Ball Draw on December 24.

Kelly bought his ticket at Lynn's Variety on Richmond Street in Amherstburg.

Thanh Mai is a regular Instant Bingo player but was still surprised when she had a winning ticket worth $100,000.

"I purchase these tickets often, so I was happy to see I won this much," she said while picking up her prize at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

She bought her ticket on Christmas Day at Multifood Supermarket on Crawford Avenue in Windsor.

"We are going to purchase a car and share some with my kids and family in Vietnam. I feel so grateful," she said.

Phahatkone Khamvongsa of Lakeshore matched the last six digits out of the seven drawn on Encore, in the January 4 Lotto 6/49 draw, winning $100,000.

Khamvongsa bought his ticket at a Mac's on Tecumseh Road East in Windsor. He plans to use the money for a down payment on a house, and visit his family in Laos.
