Adding an extra dollar for Encore paid off for a Windsor man.
Retiree Philip Knuckle put down the extra loonie when he played the Lottario game for July 29. He matched the last six Encore digits to win the second prize of $100,000.
Knuckle, who picked up his prize cheque at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto this week, has been a faithful lottery player for 30 years.
"I always say yes to Encore, and I always play my regular numbers," said Knuckle. "I was at the store when I discovered my win. When the lottery terminal started to play a song, I realized I won and started shaking with excitement. I was so shocked that I couldn’t talk. I was stuttering."
Knuckle will use the winnings to take a beach vacation and save for retirement.
The winning ticket was bought at Kevin's Variety on Wyandotte Street West in Windsor.
