Workers at Stellantis' Windsor Assembly Plant celebrated a milestone Thursday.
The 100,000th Chrysler Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid produced in Windsor rolled off the assembly line. The milestone vehicle is a 2023 brilliant black crystal pearl Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid Touring-L model.
"Congratulations to the entire team at Windsor Assembly Plant on production of the 100,000th ultimate family vehicle," said Chrysler Brand CEO Chris Feuell. "The Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid jump-started the Chrysler brand’s electrified journey, and we continue to build on this foundation to deliver the first all-electric Chrysler vehicle in 2025 and an all-electric Chrysler brand portfolio in 2028."
Production on the model began in Windsor in December 2016.
The vehicle is also the only minivan in Canada to remain eligible for a $5,000 federal Electric Vehicle purchase incentive, as well as any available provincial or territorial incentives.
Stellantis is enjoying a sales upswing with the Windsor-built Pacifica. According to the automaker's Canadian figures for the second quarter of this year, Pacifica sales were up 56 per cent compared to the same quarter in 2022. Year to date, sales of the vehicle are up seven per cent.
