If you live in Essex and want to have an open burn on your property, there is now a convenient way to get a permit.
The Town of Essex, and Essex Fire and Rescue Services, have launched a new online platform for burn permits. The platform went live on Monday.
The system, powered by BurnPermits.com, is designed to streamline the process by making the bylaw available for review, applying for a burn permit, and managing existing permits.
"It is important that all residents follow the general provisions for open-air" fires to reduce the risk of a fire emergency," said Essex Fire Chief Jason Pillon. "The online burn permit platform reflects our dedication to providing a more efficient process for obtaining burn permits."
The online burn permit system can be accessed on the Town of Essex's official website.
