Port Windsor replaces fridge and freezer at Street Help Windsor

Street Help Windsor is starting 2024 with a little less stress, thanks to a big donation from Port Windsor.

Port Windsor replaced the organization's commercial-grade stainless steel refrigerators and freezers.

"We called the Street Help Homeless Centre just before the holidays and asked, 'What do you need and what most keeps you up at night?' Their answer was honest and immediate, 'our refrigeration and freezers are failing… and so expensive to replace.' We knew right then that new equipment was the best gift to sustain and support their programme," said Steve Salmons, president and CEO of the Windsor Port Authority.

The authority got a great price from Williams Food Equipment and was able to replace both at the same time.

The equipment has been delivered, and Street Help can operate their soup kitchen without fear their equipment will break down.

Street Help Homeless Centre is a homeless drop-in centre operated by those experiencing homelessness for the homeless.
