It's Crime Stoppers Month in Amherstburg and Windsor.
Crime Stoppers educates the public on illegal activities in the community and encourages residents to report suspicious or criminal activity.
“The foundation of Crime Stoppers is the partnership between the community, law enforcement and media,” said Windsor Police Coordinator Constable Lauren Brisco. “Through this partnership, Crime Stoppers is able to prevent and/or solve crime toward making our community a safer place. The City of Windsor and Town of Amherstburg’s proclamation is indicative of the regional support we share for all concerned citizens.”
There are several events scheduled for Crime Stoppers month including fundraising at five local Giant Tiger stores and Crime Stoppers night at the Windsor Spitfires game on January 13, 2024.
“For Crime Stoppers month, we will engage the regional community through a variety of events and campaigns that will give local businesses and people the opportunity to be a crime stopper,” says Program Manager, Jeremy Renaud.
