London man who took selfie with dying man in Windsor pleads guilty

A London man who travelled two hours down Hwy. 401 to take a selfie with the dying father of a woman he had an online argument with has pled guilty to a charge of criminal harassment.

Bubba Christopher Michael Pollock made his plea in a Windsor courtroom on Tuesday, six months after he walked into the room of a palliative care patient at Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare, took the photo, and posted it on social media.

Windsor Police charged Pollock last June.

The incident also prompted a review of security measures at the hospital.

Pollock told reporters last summer he brought the man flowers in a show of sympathy, but the woman he had argued with said the incident panicked her and made her fear for her father's safety.

The argument began when Brittany Leroux, an activist for the LGBTQ+ community, called out Pollock online about protests against a Pride event in London.

When Leroux posted about her wedding at Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare, Pollock kept up the online attacks.

Pollock will find out on February 29 when he will be sentenced.
