Woman charged after police track down stolen vehicle

A 25-year-old woman has been charged after police say they tracked down a vehicle that had been stolen from a convenience store in Windsor.

On Monday, police were called to investigate a reported theft of a white 2023 BMW from the parking lot of a convenience store on Huron Church Road.

Police located and reviewed surveillance video, which showed a vehicle pull up next to the BMW, at which time a female passenger allegedly exited and quickly drove off in the stolen car.

Officers identified the suspect and arrested her the following day at a residence on Northway Avenue.

She has been charged with motor vehicle theft and possession of property obtained by crime.

The stolen vehicle was recovered and returned to the owner.
