NHL alumni, law enforcement to play hockey for Special Olympics

Hockey fans will have a chance to see their old favourites take the ice against local police for a great cause.

"Hockey Night in Essex" will take place Sunday afternoon at the Essex Centre Sports Complex. Former NHL players will take on law enforcement to support Special Olympics Ontario and the Law Enforcement Torch Run.

Among the former NHL players scheduled to play on Sunday, according to the event's webpage, are Mike Krushelnyski, Warren Rychel, Joe Kocur, John Ogrodnick, Eddie Mio, Brad May, Dave Hutchison, and Zack Kassian.

Players representing Stanley Cup champions and the Original Six teams have previously participated.

Doors open at 1 p.m. Sunday, and faceoff is at 2 p.m. Tickets for "Hockey Night in Essex" are $10 in advance and $25 at the door. Tickets can be purchased online.
