A Windsor man has a date to appear before a judge after the Ontario Provincial Police stopped a vehicle going 65 km/h over the speed limit in Leamington.
An OPP officer spotted the vehicle going 145 km/h on Hwy. 3 near Hwy. 77 on Saturday night. The posted speed limit is 80 km/h.
While speaking to the driver, the man jumped out of his vehicle, refused to comply with the officer's demands, and tried to run away.
He was arrested nearby.
The 51-year-old now faces obstructing a peace officer, resisting a peace officer, possession of cocaine, driving with cannabis readily available, stunt driving, and driving with modified headlights charges. The officer also cited him for not having windshield wipers.
The driver lost his license for 30 days, while his vehicle sits in an impound yard for the next two weeks.
He'll appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on March 19.
