Windsor to end COVID-19 parking promotion

The City of Windsor will discontinue a "free parking" promotion designed to help businesses regain traffic following the COVID-19 pandemic.

Effective at 11:59 p.m. Saturday, free parking will end for the area of Zone 3800, for users of the Passport Parking Canada app.

In December 2020, Windsor City Council approved a plan to allow 15 minutes of free parking at all "Pay For Parking" locations to encourage quick pickups and shopping. The promotion was increased to one hour in 2022 as the region recovered from pandemic-related shutdowns.

Metered parking in the City of Windsor will still be free after 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and all day Sunday and most statutory holidays.

Residents are asked to call 311 or visit the 311 app with questions or concerns.
