Now that the Town of Amherstburg has a proposal to transform the Belle Vue National Historic Site, it's looking for public input again.
Amico-Loop's plan to restore the site includes a hotel/inn, spa, restaurant, and event space. It also has a residential development with homes that complement the restoration.
The town has a survey the public can fill out until March 6.
"We are dedicated to ensuring that Belle Vue becomes a place we can all be proud of," said Mayor Michael Prue. "Resident input is not only welcomed but fundamental in guiding the development of Belle Vue towards a future that mirrors the essence of our community."
The town issued an Expression of Interest to renovate the site last summer after purchasing the property in September 2017. Soon after, a fundraising campaign set out a goal of $1-million to pay for the restoration.
The Belle Vue House dates back to the War of 1812. After World War I, it housed veterans.
