The City of Windsor is well-represented in the ninth annual Best of Windsor-Essex Awards nominations.
Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island (TWEPI) has released its list of nominees, and 23 attractions within the City of Windsor made the shortlist.
"Just by being a finalist, the City’s 23 nominations will be featured in marketing efforts all year long for visitors and locals alike to experience and explore," said TWEPI CEO Gordon Orr.
The nominees are in the following categories.
Best Outdoor Art – Windsor Sculpture Park and Ford City Murals
Best Family-Friendly Attraction – Adventure Bay Family Water Park
Best Historical Attraction – Willistead Manor
Best Holiday Event – Bright Lights Windsor and Willistead Holiday Tours
Best Street Event – Open Streets Windsor
Best Beach – Sandpoint Beach
Best Birding Hub – Ojibway Nature Centre
Best Park or Garden – Coventry Gardens, Jackson Park, and Willistead Park
Best Picnic Spot – Willistead Park
Best Trail – Ganatchio Trail, Malden Park, and Ojibway
Best Golf Course – Roseland Golf & Curling Club
Best City Photo Op – Dieppe Park and Windsor Riverfront, Jackson Park, Willistead Manor, and Walkerville District
Best Art Gallery – Art Windsor-Essex (AWE)
Best Live Performance Venue – The Capitol Theatre
Events that the City of Windsor are also involved in are included in other categories. Those events include Art in the Park, Carrousel of the Nations, Windsor's Canada Day Parade, Windsor's Santa Claus Parade, Windsor-Essex Pride Fest Parade, the Downtown Windsor Farmers’ Market, Dropped on Drouillard, and WIFF Alley.
