Whether it's fishing, ice skating, or watching basketball, there's lots for Windsor-Essex residents to do this Family Day Weekend.
On Saturday, Windsor West MP Brian Masse invites the public to a free skate at the Capri Pizzeria Recreation Complex in South Windsor.
The event starts at 4:30 p.m. and ends at 6:15 p.m. when there will be a raffle for prizes provided by Unifor Local 444.
Monday is a Statutory Holiday, but the Adventure Bay Family Water Park will open for its 10th birthday celebration.
Admission is $10 per person from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
During the morning event, the water park will offer free birthday cupcakes, hot chocolate and coffee.
The Windsor Express celebrate Family Day on Monday with free activities before the matinee tip-off against the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans.
"Family Day allows for families to come together and spend quality time with each other," said Express President and CEO Dartis Willis. "With the support of community partners, we hope to bring the Windsor-Essex community together on Family Day and create lasting memories by providing a free game to all families."
Admission is free, but those going still need tickets. They are available right up until the start of the game at 2 p.m. at the WFCU Arena box office.
If you'd rather spend time in the great outdoors, the province offers free fishing all Family Day Weekend.
Those fishing won't need a license or Outdoors Card but will need to observe all catch limits, size limits, and other regulations.
The province offers free fishing four times a year. It's also free on Mother's Day Weekend, Father's Day Weekend, and Family Fishing Week in late June.
