The Municipality of Leamington has begun its preparations for a birthday party this year.
Leamington celebrates the 150th birthday of its founding this year with a series of events, including historical exhibits, night markets, and a summer concert series.
"This milestone is not only a reflection of our municipality's enduring legacy but also a testament to the spirit of collaboration and community that defines Leamington," said Mayor Hilda MacDonald.
Commemorative logos have been unveiled, with features representing Leamington's unique characteristics. The water symbolizes the Municipality's place on Lake Erie, the green plant for Leamington's rural roots, the monarch butterfly, and birds, which both represent the area's tradition of migration.
Residents are encouraged to go online to vote for their favourite logo.
The Municipality is also looking for people who are interested in working on anniversary events, as well as for sponsorship.
