Windsor police seek suspect in attempted fraud at bank

Windsor police's Financial Crimes Unit has asked the public for help in identifying a man suspected of trying to pass a fraudulent cheque.

Police say the suspect entered a bank in the area of Tecumseh Road East and Walker Road and attempted to deposit an altered cheque.

When an employee noticed an issue with the cheque, the suspect ran.

A security camera image of the suspect has been released by police.

Anyone with information on the suspect's identity should call the Windsor police's Financial Crimes Unit at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4330. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477).
