South Windsor drug bust results in two arrests, $24K seized

For the second time this week, Windsor police have gotten thousands of dollars worth of illicit drugs off the city's streets.

On Wednesday, officers from the Drug and Gun Enforcement (DIGS) Unit arrested a 29-year-old man for suspected drug trafficking. Police also confiscated $2,960 in cash, plus eight tablets of five-milligram oxycodone at that time.

A search warrant was then executed at the suspect's home on Dandurand Avenue near Norfolk Street.

Among the items seized from the home were 102.3 grams of suspected cocaine, six tablets of buprenorphine, 19 tablets of five-milligram oxycodone, eight tablets of 20-milligram oxycodone, 28 tablets of 40-milligram oxycodone, and 22 tablets of 80-milligram oxycodone. Also confiscated were two digital scales, plus Canadian and U.S. currency.

A 2009 Jaguar CPL automobile parked at the house was also searched, uncovering cash, bear spray, and a collapsible baton. The car was also seized.

A 25-year-old woman was arrested at the house.

Both the man and woman are charged with multiple counts of possession of a Schedule I substance with intent to sell, and one count apiece of possession of stolen property over $5,000.

The charges have yet to be proven in court.
