On the second time around, a new contract has been approved for employees at Windsor's Jamieson Laboratories.
Following a meeting with unionized employees Tuesday afternoon, Unifor Local 195 reported that 72 per cent of employees said yes to a four-year contract, expiring on January 31, 2028.
"My sincere thanks to our members and their families for showing up on the picket line, day in and day out, remaining strong in your resolve and solidarity," said Unifor National President Lana Payne.
The ratification marks the end of a 34-day strike. Workers walked off the job on February 1 over wages, job security, and benefits.
Local 195 President Emile Nabbout said he is pleased with the results.
"Through this challenging economy, the workers at Jamieson have produced one of the best-known and most trusted brands of vitamins and health supplements, and they deserve to receive their fair share," said Nabbout.
A previous agreement was rejected by Unifor members last week, with 67 per cent saying no to the first attempt.
Among the terms released, the contract includes a $5.50-an-hour wage hike over the life of the agreement, or a 20.5 per cent increase. Production workers will receive a $2.50-per-hour increase upon ratification and a dollar-per-hour increase for each of the last three years of the contract.
For skilled trades workers, there will be a $4-per-hour raise in year one, then a $ 1.75-an-hour increase over the remainder of the deal. Full-time production and skilled trades workers will also receive a $3,000 ratification bonus.
