OPP arrest suspect after break-ins in Tecumseh and Lakeshore

A 56-year-old Windsor man faces charges in connection to a series of break-and-enters that took place over nine months.

The OPP's Essex County Community Street Crime Unit investigated at least eight break-ins in Tecumseh and Lakeshore. They occurred between May 21, 2023, and February 22, 2024.

The OPP announced on Tuesday that a suspect has been identified and arrested for these incidents.

The suspect is charged with six counts of break-and-enter to commit an offence, six counts of possessing break-in instruments, and two counts of wearing a disguise to commit an offence. He is also charged with robbery with violence, break-and-enter of a home to commit an offence, and possession of stolen property over $5,000.

The charges have not been proven in court. The suspect was held for a bail hearing and will have a chance to respond to the charges in a future court date.
