Code Grey rescinded at Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare

Almost six months after a cyber attack at a shared service provider crippled five area hospitals, Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare has rescinded its Code Grey.

"Thanks to the continuing efforts of IT, clinical, and back-office teams, we are confident that the risks have been mitigated," read a release from the Windsor hospital. "Most recently, the financial and security systems have been brought online, resulting in more normal operations."

In addition to Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare, Windsor Regional Hospital, Erie Shores Healthcare, Bluewater Health and Chatham-Kent Hospital Alliance were impacted by the cyberattack on TransForm.

Windsor Regional Hospital rescinded its Code Grey in early February, while Erie Shores Healthcare lifted its a month ago.

Chatham-Kent Health Alliance ended its Code Grey in December.

Only Bluewater Health in Sarnia remains under Code Grey. It was the hardest hit by the hack, with more than 250,000 patient records dating back to the early 1990s compromised.

The cyberattack on October 23, 2023, compromised records of staff and patients at all five hospitals.
