Public board reaches tentative agreement with student services personnel

The Greater Essex County District School Board has announced another tentative agreement with a group of its union-represented employees.

The English-language public board serving Windsor-Essex reached a tentative deal with professional student services personnel represented by the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation (OSSTF).

"This deal was reached through a collaborative, interest-based bargaining process and represents the best outcome for both parties," read a statement Friday from the board.

The OSSTF represents 52 professional student services staff at the board. These staff members include psychological associates, psychoeducational consultants, psychologists, social workers, attendance counsellors, and Create Your Future advisors.

Speech pathologists, communicative disorders assistants, re-engagement attendance counsellors, FNMI student support workers, and board-certified behaviour analysts also fall into this category.

There was no immediate word on a ratification vote being scheduled, but once approved, the contract will cover a four-year term that began in September 2022 and will end in August 2026.
