Windsor man arrested for death threats against mayor

A 68-year-old man has been charged for allegedly phoning in death threats against Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens.

Windsor police say the mayor's office received a call on Wednesday morning from an unknown male who made threats against Dilkens.

The Major Crimes Unit immediately launched an investigation, and it was not long before a suspect was identified.

The man was arrested at around 9 p.m. Wednesday at his home on Wyandotte Street East near Parent Avenue.

He is charged with one count of uttering death threats. The charge has not been proven in court.
