After serving in an interim capacity since last May, the Municipality of Leamington has officially appointed Don Williamson as its fire chief.
Williamson started his career in 1986. He served the Lakeshore Fire Department for 21 years before joining the service in Leamington. He was appointed Fire Chief in Lakeshore in 2005.
"His extensive experience, knowledge, and leadership are exactly what Leamington needs as we implement the recommendations of our fire master plan," said Leamington Mayor Hilda MacDonald.
The initiatives outlined in the master plan will enhance the safety and well-being of Leamington residents, ensuring fire services meet current and future challenges.
Williamson holds professional designations recognized by the Ontario and Canadian Associations of Fire Chiefs, including Certified Municipal Manager, Fire Service Executive, Fire Suppression Professional, and Emergency Management Professional.
