Preparations for the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit are pushing ahead, which means more road closures downtown.
Construction is underway on the main draft stage, which is going up adjacent to Campus Martius. The second phase of construction is due to begin on Monday, and more streets in the area will be closed to accommodate it.
The streets closing on Monday are as follows.
Northbound Woodward Avenue from Congress Street to State Street
Eastbound Cadillac Square from Woodward Avenue to Randolph Street
Westbound Cadillac Square from Randolph Street to Bates Street
Bates Street from Cadillac Square to East Congress Street
These additional streets were closed last week and will remain so until May 7.
Randolph Street between Macomb Street and Fort Street
Monroe Street between North Woodward Avenue and Randolph Street
Farmer Street between Randolph and Bates (garage access only)
Bates Street (no through traffic)
Farmer from Randolph to Bates
The framework of the giant draft stage is taking shape ahead of the Draft, which is expected to draw hundreds of thousands of people from around the world to an area stretching from Campus Martius to Hart Plaza.
The Draft will take place from Thursday, April 25 to Saturday, April 27.
The event is free and open to the public, but fans must register for tickets on the official NFL website.
