ENWIN turns on rooftop solar net metering facility at head office

ENWIN is walking the walk on environmental sustainability with a new project at its head office on Rhodes Drive in Windsor., a new rooftop solar net metering facility.

A new rooftop solar net metering facility consists of more than 3,000 solar panels, generating enough electricity annually to power 300 homes.

It's one of the largest projects of its kind in Canada.

"As a leading electricity distributor, we recognize the importance of embracing a mix of renewable energy sources to meet the growing demand for clean, sustainable power," said President and CEO Garry Rossi. "This solar installation is just the beginning of our journey towards a greener future, and we are excited to continue exploring innovative ways to reduce our carbon footprint."

ENWIN unveiled the project last weekend during Earth Day festivities.

"Earth Day is a time to reflect on the progress we've made in protecting our planet," said Chief Business Development Officer Kris Taylor. "This solar installation is a tangible demonstration of our dedication to being a responsible corporate citizen and driving positive change for the future."

Net metering customers generate their own electricity, usually through renewable energy sources like solar and wind. Excess power generated from net metering is injected back into the electricity grid for future consumption. By using renewable sources, it helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants.
