Habitat for Humanity holds national housing conference in Windsor

More than 200 delegates are at a national housing conference at Caesars Windsor on Wednesday.

Delegates representing 45 local Habitat for Humanity organizations across the country are meeting to share knowledge, experience, and resources as Canada grapples with a crisis in affordable housing.

"As the country's only national homeownership organization, Habitat for Humanity is a leading voice in housing solutions, with nearly 40 years experience in creating a path to affordable homeownership for lower-income, working families," read a release.

"This conference is an amazing opportunity to bring housing leaders from across the country to share knowledge and work together to move the needle on affordable housing," said CEO of Habitat for Humanity Windsor-Essex Fiona Coughlin.

In Windsor, Habitat for Humanity has mobilized hundreds of volunteers and community partners to build and restore 105 housing units.

Ward 10 Councillor Jim Morrison will offer greetings from the City of Windsor.
