Windsor-Essex home sales down in April

There was a drop in the number of homes changing hands in Windsor-Essex in April.

According to the April 2024 report from the Windsor-Essex County Association of Realtors (WECAR), home sales went down for the second month in a row. The difference was a drop of 7.76 per cent compared to April 2023.

In April, 452 properties were sold in Windsor-Essex, down from 490 the year before. To date in 2024, sales are still up by 1.86 per cent.

There was no shortage of available listings last month. Market activity in Windsor-Essex went up year-to-year, with 1,082 listings and a 22.54 per cent increase from 2023. Market activity in 2024 is up 8.49 per cent to date.

There was also a slight increase in the average price of a home for sale in Windsor-Essex. In April, the average price was $581,194, up 0.47 per cent from $578,499 in the same month in 2023.
