Municipal water users in Wheatley, Tilbury, and portions of Leamington, are advised to boil their water as of Monday.
Dr. Shanker Nesathurai, Chatham-Kent's Acting Medical Officer of Health, is advising residents to bring tap water to a rolling boil for at least one minute prior to using it for domestic purposes. This includes drinking, making infant formula, juice, or ice, brushing your teeth, and washing raw foods.
The reason for the boil water advisory is due to a loss in water pressure throughout the distribution system.

Windsor-Essex Medical Officer of Health Dr. Mehdi Aloosh, has concurrently issued the advisory for Tilbury and Wheatley residents who live on the Windsor-Essex side of the line, as well as portions of Leamington, as indicated by the map issued by the Municipality of Leamington.
The boil water advisory measure will remain in place until system repairs are complete and satisfactory water sampling results are received by CK Public Health.
