Mark McKenzie seeking CPC nomination for next federal election

Ward 4 Councillor Mark McKenzie will be seeking the Conservative Party of Canada nomination in the riding of Windsor-Tecumseh-Lakeshore.

McKenzie was elected to Windsor City Council in 2022. He currently sits on 12 boards and committees including the Development & Heritage Committee, ERCA, and the Windsor Public Library Board.

"The cost of everything has skyrocketed, the cost of fuel has skyrocketed, the cost of heating and cooling has doubled, the cost of groceries has doubled and so I felt now was the right time to seek the nomination in Windsor-Tecumseh-Lakeshore," said McKenzie.

He said he really connects with the CPC's party platform.

"Even when I ran for city council in 2022 I did run on those conservative values, against safe neighbourhoods, getting tough on crime, low taxes, those are the things that I've always believed in," said McKenzie.

The candidate for the CPC in the last federal election, Kathy Borrelli, has also announced she is seeking the candidacy again.

The candidate will be selected in the fall.

"We know that we're more than a year out from a federal election so I'm still a committed full-time city councillor as I have been since being elected. City council is still my first priority," said McKenzie.
