An alert has been issued after a high number of opioid overdoses were recorded in the region last week.
Between May 26 and June 1, 15 opioid overdoses were reported at local hospitals, eight of which involved fentanyl.
The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit’s Opioid and Substance Use Notification System issues these alerts in an attempt to identify links between the cases.
If you are aware of any linkages between these cases or other causes for these increases you are asked to call the health unit.
