Update: Motorcyclist faces charges in Windsor crash

A 24-year-old man faces charges after a crash on Tuesday that shut down a section of Wyandotte Street East for hours.

Windsor Police say around 4 p.m., a northbound motorcycle struck the side of an eastbound SUV at the intersection of Pierre Avenue and Wyandotte Street.

The motorcyclist fled.

Paramedics took him to the hospital with minor injuries after police found him in a nearby alleyway.

Police charged the motorcyclist with failure to remain at the scene of an accident and failure to comply with a release order.

The charges have not been proven in court.

The intersection reopened around 7 p.m.
