Some enhancements were made to Devonwood Conservation Area thanks to a donation from Caesars Windsor Cares.
"It's a place for people who live in a significantly urbanized built up environment to have a place where they can connect with nature. A place where they can walk out their front door and in a matter of minutes be in the middle of a completely forested area," said Kieran McKenzie, past chair of the Essex Region Conservation Authority.
Caesars Windsor made a $20,000 donation that went toward parking lot improvements, solar lighting, new benches and a new sign.
"The lighting has been a significant improvement. We also thinned out some of the trees in front of the property to create a greater visual window from the roadside into the parking lot so there have been some measures to address some of those [safety] concerns," said McKenzie.
Employees of Caesars Windsor also come to the park on a frequent basis to help with clean-ups along the 4.5 kilometer trail located off of Division Road.
