Man arrested after armed bicycle theft

Windsor police have arrested a 28-year-old man following an alleged armed robbery Wednesday night.

Officers were called at around 9 p.m. to Dufferin Place. They learned that the victim was riding a bicycle when they were approached.

The man ordered the victim to give up the bike. When the victim refused, the suspect brandished a handgun and took the bicycle by force.

The victim was not hurt.

Police soon located the suspect on Ouellette Avenue near Elliott Street. He has been charged with armed robbery, possession of a weapon while prohibited, and failure to comply with a probation order.

The charges have not been proven in court.
