UPDATE: Windsor police say child located, woman arrested

A 40-year-old woman is facing charges in connection to child abduction.

Windsor police say an eight-year-old boy left with his mother, who did not have legal custody of him, around 4 p.m. Thursday.

After reviewing surveillance footage around Erie Street and Windsor Avenue and speaking to witnesses, police tracked down and made contact with the mother.

Officers convinced her to return the child. She was arrested on Dougall Avenue near Hwy. 401 and the child was returned.

The woman was charged with abduction by a parent.
